Privacy notice

What personal details I collect through this website, why, who handles them for me, how long I keep them, and what you can ask me to do with them.

Who I am

KTS Pro Solutions is the trading name of Kyle Skelly, a sole trader based in Lytham St Anne's, Lancashire. I run the business on my own, so "I" on this page means me, and I am the data controller for the personal details described here.

What I collect and why

I only collect details you give me, or that your browser sends with any web request, and only for the reasons below.

To deliver the site and keep it secure

Fields marked with an asterisk on a form are the ones I need in order to answer you. If you leave them out, I may not be able to reply.

My lawful basis

  • Enquiries: taking steps you've asked for before we enter a contract, and my legitimate interest in replying to people who get in touch.
  • Analytics cookies: your consent. You can withdraw it at any time with Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page.
  • Hosting records: my legitimate interest in running a secure website.
  • If you become a client: the contract between us, and my legal obligation to keep business and tax records.

Who handles your details for me

I don't sell your details, and I don't share them for anyone's marketing. These services process them on my behalf so the website and the business can run:

  • Netlify hosts this website and handles the technical details of every request. It also stores what you submit through the contact form. Netlify's privacy policy
  • Google runs my email through Google Workspace, so any email you send me, and my replies, are held in my mailbox. Google Analytics processes analytics data, but only if you accept analytics cookies. Google's privacy policy

Some of these providers store data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by the provider's standard data-protection terms.

Where your details are kept

Form submissions are stored in my Netlify account, and email is held in my Google Workspace mailbox. This website is served only over HTTPS, and I'm the only person with access to what you send me.

How long I keep your details

  • Enquiries that don't turn into work: 12 months from your last message, then deleted.
  • Details connected to work I've done for you (quotes, invoices and project correspondence): 6 years after the work ends.
  • Analytics data: Google Analytics keeps user-level data for no more than 14 months.
  • Hosting records: kept by Netlify under its own retention policy.

Cookies

The only non-essential cookies on this site are Google Analytics cookies (_ga and _ga_EK59MS9HZV), and they are set only if you choose Accept analytics in the banner shown on your first visit. Google sets them to last for up to two years. Nothing is loaded before you choose, and the site works the same if you decline.

Your choice is remembered in your browser's local storage so the banner doesn't keep asking. That one item is strictly necessary and holds only "accepted" or "declined".

To change your mind, use Cookie Settings at the bottom of any page. Declining after you've accepted switches Google Analytics off and removes its cookies from your browser.

Your rights

You can ask me at any time to:

  • tell you what details I hold about you, and give you a copy
  • correct anything that's wrong
  • delete your details, unless I have to keep them, for example invoices I'm required to keep for my accounts
  • stop using your details for a particular purpose, or limit what I do with them
  • give you your details in a form you can take elsewhere
  • withdraw any consent you've given

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how I've handled your details, please tell me first so I can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If I change how I use your details, I'll update this page and the date at the top.
