What engineering design work do you take on?
2D technical drawings for fabrication, assembly and documentation; parametric 3D CAD models and assemblies; design for manufacture that takes materials, tolerances and processes into account; and full documentation packs with drawing sets, bills of materials and revision control.

What do I receive at the end of a project?
Manufacturing-ready files and the documentation that goes with them: the drawing set, bills of materials, tolerances and revision control, so you have a complete, traceable record of the design.
Models are parametric, which means they're built to be changed. When a dimension moves, the model updates rather than being redrawn, so later design iterations take less rework.
Do I need a finished design before I get in touch?
No. Every project starts with a brief: the requirement, the constraints and how the part or assembly will be used. From there I develop the initial approach and layout before the detailed CAD work begins, so you can bring a problem rather than a drawing.
If you do have sketches, photos, measurements or earlier drawings, send them, because they make the brief quicker to pin down. Start an engineering project.
How is engineering design work priced?
Per project. Engineering work varies too much for a fixed package, so once I've seen the requirement you get a written quote that lists each item before anything starts.
The same payment terms apply as for any project: 50% before work begins and the balance on delivery, and anything you'd like added later is priced before it's done. Pricing and payment questions.
